The older version of the device has the number “ADF-070108” while the updated version is labelled as the “ND-1000. You can identify the NeatDesk by looking on the bottom side to find the model number. 75 amps (see the specifications below for more details). If you’re looking online for a replacement adapter, look for one rated for 24 volts and at least. The device also requires power from an AC power adapter.
The NeatDesk has a port for a USB-B 2.0 connector specifically (note that a cable with a USB-B 3.0 connector is physically larger and won’t work with the scanner). To connect the scanner to your computer, use a USB cable. I dont know why, but Neat has taken down all downloadable copies of the Neat Desktop software and replaced it the subscription only software. Realistically I would be happy with any version v5.4 and above. Preferably the latest one they released before they took them all down, v5.7.1.474. Using it’s automatic document feeder (ADF) feature, the NeatDesk is capable of ingesting a maximum of 50 pages at once it separates each page and scans the front and back of each sheet while the paper slides down through the device. Although Neat left the hardware business in 2016 to focus on it’s cloud document services, many of these machines are still in use they remain a useful scanning tool and can last for years with proper care.
